So here is my story....I recently dyno tested my 1999 ranger 3.0 and at about 110mph (give or take 5mph) in fourth gear (about 4600PRM) power totally dropped off..At this time all the gauges started bouncing back and forth..Like a full sweep calibration that newer GM cars do...then at about 95mph power would resume..Also the engine was running a little strange as it was coming down that 15mph or so..kind of like a lot lot lot of misfiring...barely any exhaust note however...I did four runs and the same thing happened every time...Does anyone know if the rangers have a fuel cut at a certain speed? Rev limiter is right around 5500RPM but this was not my problem..Just curious as to what went on..I've never gone over 100MPH when actually driving on the road so this is the only time its happened...Thanks for any input fellas! By the way the 145,000 mile old 3liter made 125HP @4000RPM and 160 ft lbs.of torque from 2000RPM-4600RPM when it cut out..woo hoo! Basically stock...custom fab intake behind the headlight...pretty much a cone filter on a big tube..haha and the exhaust in cut off behind the rear O2S with a 2.5" 90degree bent pipe exiting under pass. door...Kind of my baseline..

Yeah there should be a speed limiter around 100MPH.

thanks for the input guys... it was just very strange the way all the gauges and lights lit up and flashed and bounced all over like they did. Very peculiar... and almost worried me when it happened.

Am I the only one thinking thats probably a little fast and dangerous for a stock ranger, I understand its on a dyno but those are still moving parts, all designed to max out at 90 mph or so...

Not to say I wouldn't do it, I would love to hit that speed but I gotta be weary of the integrity of the drive shaft and what not.

My fuel cutoff occurs at 90 mph but if im going downhill I can get her close to 95 :P
