going to attempt to replace passenger side wheel bearing on my 97 4x4 ranger.

Any help would be appreciated

Super easy job. Take a look at the first breakdown in the link below. You will need to go as far as the grease seal. That breakdown is for manual hubs. If you have automatic hubs you wont have two lock nuts. Instead you will have the auto hub cam before the locknut against the rotor. The auto hub lock nut has a small wedge in the grooved slot in the spindle. You cant spin the nut off until you remove the wedge. A strong magnet can pull it straight out the front of the slot or if the grease is really dry and its stuck in there you can take a small punch and hammer it through the backside, spin the nut off and the wedge will be sitting in the groove on the backside of the spindle threads.

knowing how to properly pack a wheel bearing and reinstall it is the fuzzy part though.
