Front Sway Bar Stabilizer or possible ball joint issue .

Who else has listened to that for you in person KQ and what did they tell you?
What is their relationship/interest, as in friend or mechanic etc
no one.. after 20 years of chronic illness I am a good hermit ! lol.
gosh my memory is SOO bad.. that was a just monday .. I believe that noise (video ) was to show the sound of the power steering pump when the wheels are being turned.

the steering issue only happens on turns. and when the wheel was being turned to the left I felt the right wheel and i could feel the "thump thump" as the steering wheel was turning the wheels. I did not feel that on the left wheel.

seems like I had the timing belt and water pump ? replaced a few years ago.. I can check records.
thanks

All I'm hearing is the whine of the power steering pump.

Most of what I hear is power steering pump whine, which sounds pretty normal. I do hear another noise. But can't tell if it is wind across the microphone or maybe pump cavitation.

I apologize Qkam, I think the guys are correct tho

You have I suppose checked the fluid level in the pump?
Has there been any leaks?
I've never pulled a power steering pump, no idea how involved that might become

The hardest part is disconnecting the lines, assuming you have the correct tool to pull the pulley. The lines are often rust welded.

qkcam, if your ranger is dark green, i could probably help as i am going through the same shit.
shuddering in the front end while turning sounds like air in the PS system, is your fluid low?
I noticed everytime i have turned my front wheel wheels with engine off, more and more PS fluid shoots out the cap.

glad to know your sway bar link replacement fixed your wobble issue.
i am still trying to figure out mine. i have already:
1. last year i replaced sway bar end links, i recently snugged them up.
2. had a shop recommend i replace my upper control arms -i paid them to do it.
(took out the severe wobble and loud clunking)
3. replaced front rotors/bearings with pick-n-pull doners
4. pumped grease into my lower control arm zerk fittings, needle poked grease into my outer tie rod ends
5. had my rear two tires rebalanced, had a visual inspection ???? of my new (used) front tires -shop that sold them to me said theyre fine and balanced.
6. rotated said tires
7. i am about to replace my rear leafsprings and shocks, maybe there is a chance that is where shaking is coming from. my truck is old (overloaded many a time) and sags.
My truck is still shaking at 60mph :(

my mechanic buddy told me that my joints have gone a long long long time without being greased
(i assumed shops did this when i took it in for inspections and other work, i guess not)
I just replaced my non-stock upper control arms, so i am figuring I may as well replace lower control arms and tie-rod ends as well. any suggestions on what else to replace?
should i make a whole new thread on replacing my front end?

qkcam, if i convince my mobile mechanic buddy to come up from SoCal (he vanlifes and said he is bored of the area), he could probably crank out both our front ends at the same time and give us a discount on it.

^^^perhaps while troubleshooting the swaybar endlink clunking issue, a bunch of PS fluid shot out and now the reservoir is low causing the shaking in the steering?

Why would you bother doing this with the key off anyway? :/

my mechanic buddy kept turning my steering wheel right and left w/o turning the engine on when he was inspecting for my front end clunk
