My credo
What's the worst that could happen?
Replacing rotors and bearings. Found this cute little circular spring. Too much grease to determine exactly where it came from. It's on the backside between the bearing and the bearing keeper keeper. Any help appreciated.

Hey Sheep...I took off the other side to compare and yes it fits into a slot around the circumfrance of the seal. Hadda clean it up to find it. Don't know what it's purpose is. but whatev.

Thanks for your response

It's part of the seal. It's purpose is to hold the seal tight against the spindle so that it, well, seals.

I hope you replaced the seal, cant just pop that spring back in and expect the seal to work again... seals are about 5 bucks. Run out of grease from a bad seal and you risk ruining the spindle which is about 300.

Those seals should be replaced anytime you need to remove the rotor.

It's a good thing my wife loves me - or just agrees to put up with me. I keep telling her this is the last thing I'm gonna do - for now. For now lasts about the same time as I get back here on the forum.

I hate all of you....but you're all just like my girl --- you love to put up with me. ADMIT IT!!!

Serious response tomorrow when I sober up.....:yahoo:
