Front pump ?

i have a 92 ranger 4x4 has a new a4ld ive put about 20,000 miles on it not to sure but im thinkin the front pump has gone bad i can here a pump whining sound but its only when i slow down and it dose not always do it anybody ever seen or herd of such a thing it has me stumped

If the front pump is failing it will probably start leaking fluid soon. If the front pump wasn't aligned when it was installed they can have a short lift. I had the same problem with one of my Mustangs with a C3 transmission after only 4,000 miles.
