ok. my 96 has a trac loc rear end. how do i tell if the front end is limited slip. i looked for a little tag on the front axle but couldent find one. got manual lockin hubs if that helps

Won't have one stock if that's what you're asking. I really doubt that some one would install it either as a real locker works much better.

Anything that Ford puts in from the factroy trac-loc like this 4.L 10. No your front end didn't come with one.

The only Ford I've seen with a trac-loc or whatever it was in the front axle was my brothers 84 F150 part time 4x4

A front limited-slip was optional in early 4x4 Rangers from 84 to around 89 or so. It was an exceptionally rare option and in the same neighborhood as hen's teeth when you go to find one. By 1996 (your truck) it was no longer an option.

ok thats all i needed to know guys. i know the rear is trac loc 3L73. i was just curious about the front end. i know a regular stock 4x4 is usually just one back wheel and one front wheel pulling, so i got another question. what is the point of this. wouldnet it be just as easy and the company could probally make a little more money if they had all 4 wheels pulling? anyone got a good explanation for this?

That would be cool to see

They don't do it because a. it would cost more, b. stock vehicles don't really need it, and c. soccer moms would complain because it would steer differently in 4 wheel drive.

cool wat is the code for the limited slip up front ? my 88 ranger has a 7.5 ls 3.79 or wut ever. and can i lock the front jac it up and see wich way the weals turn?
