or atleast a 8.8! lol

pssshhh..i know i know..ive dumped a ton of money into this little toy axle i need to upgrade already...this time it was caused by lack of lock-tite on the ring gear bolts so fearless gear is fixing it for free, should be done by tomorrow morning. just gotta weld up the cover where some metal shot out lol..then the axles up for sale..anyone??

oh wow! that ought to be a gear install 101 deal! loctite is your friend. You almost might wanna keep it as i know its your DD so if you put the 8.8 or somthing under it, you have a spare should the new rear end break. specially with all the rompn around we see ya do lol

lol yeah he has only forgot 1 other time ever...ya i probably should keep it just incase..I would like to swap to a expo 8.8 with disc brakes. I need to do a bit of research, ill don't feel like swaping master cylenders or anything complicated just yet, wich I've heard is needed for the swap..we'll see.

yeah i was reading the same stuff. Its kinda contraversial but i think you can get away with your stock master. Either way a 8.8 will be better than that 7.5, specially if you truss it

we put a 8.8 with disc brakes on our 90 jeep wrangler with the stock master cylinder and they work fine can stop on the side of a hill now those drums didnt do a thing.

You do not need a new master cylinder. The one that supposedly doesn't work is the cast iron 83-85 master. I have four wheel discs and 8.8 on my '86 with the stock plastic master and it works great.

I've had the explore disc 8.8 in my 94 and both 2001's and didn't have to change the brake master cylinder in any of them.
