o.k. guys I am starting a clutch job and removal of the front driveshaft flange and the front diffy is almost imposible. I have broken a few torx #30 sockets withouth even putting a bar on the rachet. I have soaked in wd-40 and in some liquid wrench foaming crap and still nothing. Then got out the torch and still nothing. I am trying to avoid removal of the u joint because it is the original and will be stuck in there. any ideas????

i believe those bolts are lock tighted from the factory...the only cure is plenty of heat (propane wont cut it).

The loctite bond is destroyed by heating to 400degF

the catch is getting the differential flange to 400F.

I prefer applying a LOT of head very quickly (Oxy-Acetylene)
to the head of the bolt and letting the heat wick into the threads
that way you don't incinerate the front diff pinion seal in the attempt
to remove the bolts like you almost certainly would if you used propane.
