Front Drive Shaft to Transfer Case

there seems to be alot of play on the front drive shaft where it connects, i can shake it and it makes a knocking sound. I haven't taken anything apart yet but i was wondering is there a needle bearing or anything that is easly replaced in the transfer case? the four wheel drive still works strong.

any advise would be great.

are you sure its not the u joint

it may be the drive shaft yoke. grab one from the junk yard and see if that helps

Could be play in the ujoint, the yoke, or even the pinion.

You can still have play in the pinion assembly and it will still function normally. Especially if it's just a bearing going out.

ahh. ok........ well im going to haul it all apart today and have a look i'll post my findings
