front bumper help

im looking at making my own prerunner bumper to save some cash, and have no idea where to start. what kind of material should i use? what diameter tubing? how do i add mounts? and what type of welding? tig? mig?

this is my bumper. 100% bolt on.

you will save cash by building your own and luckily they are really simple to make.

ideas: look at tons of pics find a style you like and make yours from that. take a pic of the front of your truck and up load it in to paint. then draw out your ideas so you can see if they would work with the lines on your truck.
tubing size: 1 3/4 .120 wall welded wall tubing. there is really no need to to go make it out of dom.
skid plat: the best would be made out of 3/16 or 1/4 thick aluminum.
mounts: i made custom mounts you can see them all in my photobucket. or you can just weld it to your frame
just mig it.
