I recently swapped out my auto hubs, on my 94, to manual. Also checked and repacked the bearings, had rotors turned, and new pads....well I am getting a clunk from the front brakes when I press the pedal, even when I am not moving?? I am no stranger to these types of brake jobs. Any help would be great. The clunk also seems to be coming from both sides.

Was all the brake hardware intact and in place? (caliper guides, etc)

just a thought

Jack the front end up, pull the tires...and have a helper work the brake pedal. Look and see what's loose. Anti Rattle clips come to mind....

brake clunk update

Well after a lot of hair pulling, the problem was very simple. After I read a reply on the rattle clips, I checked....and come to my surprise they were not present. Evidently the shop that turned the rotors (the only thing I didn't do) lost one of the clips and decided not to do anything about it. So all I did was replace them along with new guide pins, and I now have quiet brakes again....thanks for the few replies that I received....problem resolved.:headbang::icon_cheers:

Not a problem. (Don't ask how I knew that one LOL) I think it's something most of us has done at some point in time. I'm sure the new guide pins helped as well. New Hardware is Happy Hardware. (Corny I know....but that's me)

Have a great day!
