This just developed last night and I've been trying to diagnose it but haven't pulled the tire off or anything yet. Whenever I engage the brake or just let off of it, I get this light clunk. It happens both when pushing the brake and letting off, usually only at slow speeds to stopped. At high speeds it's either happening and i cant hear/feel it or it's not happening. I dont think it is happening at high speeds. Any idea on what it could be? it seems to me that it's coming more from the passenger's side. Thanks.

I know the newer Rangers are different but I just fixed the same problem on my '93 by putting anti-rattle clips on the pads. Mine were missing.

that's what i've been hearing, how much are the clips and are they difficult to install?

where can i find some anti-rattle clips? I've looked on Autozone and Advance's websites and they don't have any for an 03 4x4.

actually i've done a little bit more research and it seems as if the newer rangers don't have anti-rattle clips. I can find some up to 1999. I'm starting to think it's not the clips anyways because people with that exact problem have been saying that their brakes actually rattle while they're driving. Mine dont do that, it's only the instant i apply the brakes or the instant i let off of them do I get a slight clunk up there.

Turns out one of the calipers was starting to get loose. Got that tightened up and it's good as new.
