Hey im currently doing the brakes on my 95 4x4 ranger with a d35 front, i noticed while doing the brakes the inner spline shaft has play in the spindler, is this normal or is there a bearing that needs replacement?

I noticed this winter when i had the hubs locked i could hear a lil noise, im thinking this may be the culprit, i also recently installed manual locking hubs.

Thanks for the help in advance

The axle shaft will move around in the spindle a bit, you could pull the spindle off and check the condition of the spindle bearing and replace it and the seal while you are in there.

Alright thanks for the info, i already have it all back together, ill probly check it out over the summer, theres some play, weather its abnormal or not ill see

its common to have alittle play betwen the spindle and axle shaft.

you can see the play I have in mine. if you look at the gap between the axles shaft and the spindle snout.

and it also ok to have some in and out play once all the washer and clip are on the end also.
