Hey there everyone! I want to thank everybody for their help, as this forum (via lurking) has helped me quite a bit over the past month. I bought this truck on the other side of the country, a >4000km trip. When I purchased it for $900 it had been on blocks for 7 years without moving, and didn't start.

I figured it was the fuel pump, and got it running a few days later, after the nightmare of dropping the tank. The brakes seized within a few kilometers, so I replaced both calipers, pads, and discs. Now she's doing very well, only has 155 000km on her, but I blew a headgasket recently after replacing the thermostat which was stuck open (figure there was air in the system as my heater wouldn't blow hot, and then got some white smoke out the back). Will fix that soon, as I have the gasket set, but need to finish this semester of school before I will be able to break er down. I intend to do the top end and the suspension in the 2 week break that I have in a week and a half.

Now I'm looking to remove the drop kit from it as well, she came with front lowering beams, and a rear flip kit with 5 leaf springs(from an explorer?). It drives me nuts, I also own a 1976 MGB, and believe it or not, my rangers chassis is closer to the ground than the MG. Honda civics can hit speed bumps faster than me!! And worst of all, I literally cannot get my face under the frame rail unless it's jacked up.

I want to raise the truck if anything, thinking a 2 or 3 inch lift (which is like 8 inches from my current position). I know that I need to revert to stock I beams, and flip the rear axle, but I'm a little unsure about the things that I require, and hate to get stuck with a disassembled vehicle awaiting parts. Here is my parts list, please let me know if I'm missing anything:

Front Suspension:
Stock Ibeams (junkyard)
3" Lift Springs
Ball Joints

Rear Suspension:
2" Lift Shackles
Ubolts

That's all I think that I require, but I am probably forgetting something/everything as usual. Has anybody else done this here? Thanks.

PS Airtex fuel pumps are the worst thing since the invention of war... Forgot to mention that my Airtex replacement started dying before 4000km, mid trip. I made it but had to replace it after complete failure before it reached 5000km.

I have all the parts you need, but given your unit of measure shipping would be astronomical.

You forgot shocks in your list.
Also I'd go with only 2" front lift, for alignment reasons.
Also IIRC, 96+ beams and brakes
And finally, stock shackles w/ 4x4 blocks and u-bolts.

Lol, I appreciate it, but yes, I imagine so. Canada and all.

Thank you, will add those items to my junkyard list (new shocks and ubolts though).
I will take your advice on the 2", I'd hate to make my alignment worse than it is now. I need to get it aligned, but don't want to pay for it and then rip it all out, so I will wait till the ibeam swap.

I didn't realize it was possible to switch to 96+ beams, that seems very intriguing, I will definitely look into that, thanks!

On another note, I've been trying to clean up this misfire situation one thing at a time. I don't have time (and the ability to be without my truck) to do the head gasket until a week or so from now, so I've just been doing a few things here and there. I cleaned my IAT solenoid, checked for vacuum leaks, cleared a stuck one way valve (vacuum line to passenger side wiring harness), did the oil (which was black as night), and tightened the belts (which were looser than .... nevermind).

It seems to run better now, and doesn't have the same severity of shake at idle, but it is still there... and is driving me bonkers. I figure once I do the head gasket it should solve my situation, but holy crap is my vehicular OCD kicking in.

Well, anyways, welcome to TRS, do feel free to browse the tech articles, or start up a thread in the corresponding section!

One tip of advice get a photobucket if you don't already have one. Makes using picture so much simpler.
