so my pop has a 93 explorer sport that iam working on. i just recently freshened up an axle out of a 96 explorer for it.. i re welded spring perches on top of the axle as i did this when i swapped this axle into my ranger.. i noticed that in order to get the drive shaft aligned on the axle i had to angle the pinion up a bit in order to get it even with the drive shaft.. does this sound about right? i first set it like i did my ranger an no way would it have worked.. u joint was a a sever angle. other thing that i noticed, what did you guys do about shocks and sway bar? i thought the stock shocks would work but they are WAY to long so i ended up cutting sway bar off an relocated the bottom of the shock to the upper sway bar hole..

When I bolted the Ranger 8.8 into mine, I noticed the pinion was a lot lower than it was in my old Ranger, but I don't feel any vibrations from it....

I didn't use a rear sway bar, but my shock mounts look like this.

The mounts in the bottom pic were actually just a hair too close to the spring perches to work, so they were cut off and re-welded. I cut off the shock mount tabs from the spring pates and welded them to the axle. Works great.

If you have a single u joint on each end of your drive shaft, your pinion flange should be the same angle as your t case rear output.
