I've got 260K on the truck. I changed my slave cylinder 2 weeks ago and when I drained the fluid it was almost black. I put fresh ATF (Dextron/Mercon) in it. Now the tranny whines a bit. Not having any problems but just annoying. I know the friction modifier helps with the rear end & folks have put it in whiney power steering pumps with some success. Anyone try this in the tranny?

Are you talking about the t case or transmission? because i am pretty sure manual transmissions are supposed to take 80w90 gear oil...? Well in my 84 it takes 80w90 in the trans and atf in the t case.

A 1995 truck would have the M5OD trans which uses Mercon ATF.
