Yes, and no, but more No
1998 and up 4x4s got new front suspension and frame in the front was about 3" wider
1983 to 1997 4x4s used TTB (Twin Traction Beam) front suspension
1998 and up 4x4s used torsion bar suspension

The yes part is that if you can weld you can do just about any change you want
