Frame Prep for POR 15 coating

It took me ! quart to do the back half of the frame. I bought a few new empty quart cans and poured what I didn't use in one of them. Just don't get any on the rim and it works to keep it so you can open it in a day or 2 to finish a job.

Looks like a typo, but in my end I’m seeing an exclamation point in the most important part of your response.

Very good. Keep in mind that this is just a primer. It will break down fast without a top coat and/or sealer.

My understanding is it is UV light that will break down POR 15. I applied it to a Chevy truck frame approximately 15 years ago with no topcoat and is still holding up today.

I would imagine POR 15 alone works well in some climates and conditions. Many do as you have and are pleased with the results. I learned that it does not hold up here in the Twin Cities Minnesota. Maybe this is because the highways are more heavily salted. POR 15 really needs the top coat which the manufacturer recommends. One thing for sure, it's an extra layer of protection, well worth the time and trouble as long as one is taking this on.
