foxbody mustang on bronco II frame

My 4wd car is not on a Truck chassis. The uni-body is heavily reinforced.
You can see in that Mustang pic that the Mustang doesn't fit the BII chassis well at all.
I did start a 4x4 Taurus a while ago that is on a full size Bronco frame. It fits the frame really well. Most of the contours match. I have too many projects to finish it though.
I don't agree with chopping up a collectable car. Grab a grocery getter or econobox and cut away!

Hey man, good to see that you're back...thought you were gone for good there?? :dunno:

Thanks Shran. I just need to not get carried away. I need to be careful on what I reply to.
Jim is a really good guy, I owe him a favor or two.
I'm also really glad to see the changes that have been happening.

I know nothing, just saw your sig a while back. I am glad certain things are changing around here too.

Anyway carry on with the bootyfab 'stang talk :D

i'd rather put a escort or tempo on a b2 frame. fox bodys are too hard to find in good shape or too expensive

Do it. It's your car and frame. Do it. I personally like Trars and am going to build one just because it's going to be fun. 1978 Grand Prix onto a 1998 Suburban frame. Not a bad project and will sure as hell be unique.

If the B2 frame will work with the stang DO IT!! I'll be watching that build like all hell.

Oh and BTW. Mazda Miatas fit onto FSB frames...don't ask me how I know...lol

Seen G-bodies 4X4'd before...............best frame for that is a SWB Chevy truck or Blazer if your doin the frame swap..............one of the nicest one's I've seen was a 78 Elky, NO FRAME SWAP, guy took International Scout leafs & axles, that are the perfect wideth BTW, used 2X4 rectangular tubin to make crossmembers for where the spring mounts needed to be, modified a pitman arm, and used a 205 transfer case, and it had a 383 SBC in it.........VERY NICE JOB he did, looked factory from outside, till ya looked under it to see the mounts & such.

The corvette on monster garage was not on a truck frame it had a chain drive four wheel drive that was custom made to fit the car and it worked very well.

The stingray was a nice build. I remember that episode...

I don't think I've ever seen a framed Fox, F, or whatever body that inspired me to build my own.

The pictured above seems to have at least been done cleanly, and in a street-worthy/safe fashion. Props to him for good fabwork.

Throw a Datsun 510 onto a truck frame. Now THAT would be a comical clowncar!

I recall a 4wheeler mag many years ago they had a guy with a 510 wagon on a 4runner frame that fit really whell and actually looked kinda cool

well that is my fav corvette to me that would be the only vette i would buy

I agree, by far and away they have the most style out of all of the Corvettes.

There was a user on here that swapped a old beetle body onto a BII running gear. It fit like a glove, the wheelbase was the same. He cut the BII floor to match the bug body so it didn't have the VW tub anymore. There was another that was going to try to do the same thing, lost interest and sold it and the guy that bought it posted on here shortly after buying it saying he was going to finish it but I don't think he has.

Sorry but i have to disagree i saw this one awhile back, i would drive the heck out of it.:icon_hornsup:
