anyone know if a 5.0 foxbody rad can be used in a 2nd gen ranger 2wd with a 302? i can get one super cheap...

and does anyone know if a foxbody driveshaft is long enough for my truck? its an xlt and im running a c6... getting it cut down would be no problem... and what size joints will be on it?

i pulled a lot of info from when we had forum issues and we lost rights to the database

what do you mean by "factory HD radiator"? is that like a 2 core ranger radiator? did they come in 2nd gen 4.0l rangers? will it fit like the stock one on my core support?

i never did a v8 swap yet, as i never had a garage to tinker in. i just pull that info from multiple peoples posts to save the data.

that radiator is rated for 2.8-4.0 engines i would try to score a explorer 5.0 v8 radiator or see if the mustang radiator fits.

Fox radiator is too big for the ranger unless your going to cut into the frame rails, I had bought a full core aluminum fox radiator to put it in my 5.0 swapped ranger but it wouldnt fit right without cutting into the mounts because the rad was too large. I didnt take exact measurements or anything but its no bolt on.

What I used was the thick 4.0 radiator from an 91 body style explorer I pulled one from the local u-pick for $30, I had to cut the plastic mount arms off the rad and a little trimming but it fit the stock mounts and hoses are in the same spots. it a full sized rad kept my 5.0 alot cooler than the stock unit while it was still around. I'm not sure on the 96+ exp/mountaineer 5.0 rad as I've never put one in my car.

the driveshaft from the mustang is too small. I currently have a mustang 5.0 and ranger 5.0 and the driveshafts are like almost a foot difference, again no measuring but its alot smaller. I was going to use the fox's drivesahaft because it had new U-joints but thats not going to happen now.

the radiator i got from AZ for a "92 ranger, automatic with a/c" was a three core radiator that was direct fit to my bronco II

might look at that for cooling, it should be plenty.

Get one from an explorer auto w/ac. Biggest stock rad that will fit in a ranger.

Either that or james duff sells an all aluminum 302 conversion rad.
