Should be doable. One caution is that I believe 86 and up have 11" front rotors which have different spindles which have thinner mounting points for mounting the front struts. All you would need if you don't upgrade the brakes is two 1/8" shims for each side. One goes on each side of the spindle mount and the strut slides over them.
Also the 82 struts have the onion head mounts and I am not sure how that would work but is solvable with aftermarket caster/camber plates.
is the '82 a straight 6? the k member is different. dont know if that would change the control arms though. i thought it was '89 or '91 they changed the brakes, but i could be wrong.
