Four channel sub and component wiring

That is a great deal. I'm on hold until I can sell some of my parts to fund this.

I do still have THIS in my basement. It's way too big for long term use, but I could make a single box to fit behind the passenger seat and still squeeze that in next to it along the rear wall. That would get me rolling until I could afford a new amp.

if you wanna sell that sony amp, id be interested. let me know

Sent you a PM.

OK, the speakers came in yesterday. Everything looks fine, but I'm a little confused by the flush mounting brackets for the tweeters. It's two halves to a shell, and the front half obviously slides up against the outside of the plastic trim panel. I can't make sense of how the rear half is supposed to be secured. The instruction booklet that came with the box doesn't really cover the mounting bracket design at all. Can anybody make heads or tails of how to mount these?

it looks like hte tweeter slides behind the piece on the left. then you cut a hole wherever you plan to mount the tweeters. then the tweeter goes through the front of the hole, and is secured by the piece on the right from behind. hope that makes sense. but this is just my assumption

It makes perfect sense, and was what I initially guessed as well. However, there's nothing on the back half that would keep it from pulling through the hole - no tabs extend out, etc. The two halves just twist-lock together and nothing sticks out at all.

Snapped a couple of assembled pictures - maybe that will help.

well then i have no idea. oh, and im going to have to pass on that amp. i would put it up on diymobileaudio.com or caraudio.com

I'll probably use it for the time being. Tore the speaker box apart one more time and finally found a hardware bag taped to the bottom of one of the mids. It had the clips and screws needed to mount the tweeters. I got them physically mounted, but I won't wire them in until I've got the amp wired up.

cool deal. hey, how do those audiobahn components look, pretty decent?

I'll snap a picture later. The tweeters blend right in with the black trim of the doors on my third gen. Not sure how you'd want to do it with a first gen dash. The mids fit in the stock location so they're not visible at all.

that tweeter is surface mounted???

if so, can we get some side view shots?

Sorry, didn't see your post. No - they're flush mounted. If I said surface earlier, I apologize. Definitely flush.

This project is on hold for a little while. I just ordered a Pioneer AVIC-F90BT last night for my wife's car. That should be fun...
