Found this gem in the furthest corner of the junk yard the other day and pulled everything I could!
This is an FX4 level 2 with 160k miles. Pulled the transmission, transfer case, linkage, etc...
Wish I could have bought the whole truck, but they don’t sell whole vehicles! :flipoff:

Awesome find! Manual or auto? I don't suppose you're willing to part with that transfer case shift linkage are you?

Did you get those tow hooks. They look custom or aftermarket. DEF NOT stock gear

I'm pretty sure those are factory hooks on a FX4

I may consider selling the case. W/linkage (no shifter) depending on the $$$ offer I guess ...
Never really put too much thought into selling it/them lol

Id be interested in the rubber floor plate which the shifters go through. Thanks, Charles

I would love to sneak up on a set of Alcoas like that...

Unfortunately the rubber plate was destroyed before I got there
Im ok if its torn up a bit. Its better to have something then nothing for my shifter swap in my '91 lol. That is unless its completely cut up/out to the point its unusable.

Do you have the chrome shifter bezel in good shape?

Also few things to grab from that truck if you haven't already would be:

-Stainless tow hooks & rear hook (not stainless but only came on this truck) if it has it (wont have the rear if it has a trailer hitch)
-Front skid plate
-Wire harness for manual transfercase
-Rear 31 spline 8.8
-Black interior
-Transmission tail housing extension with the speed sensor thats in it because it has the manual shifter bosses
-Transfercase
-shifter linkage
-floor plate
-little plastic cover that goes in front of the shifter bezel
-center dash bezel (hard to find with fog light button without 4wd switch)
-Alcoa rims

Thats a quick run down. Bonus points if you want to pull the heavy duty torsion bars & leaf springs along with the bilstine shocks.

What I pulled:
*Transfer case w/linkage (no detachable shifter)
*Transmission without shifter W/tail housing
*Full black interior minus seats
*Engine with 160k W/accessories
*Wiring harness for the case

Shifters and all related parts like the the bezels and boots were either gone or destroyed.
The rear axle was torn apart and parts scattered all over the yard.
The tow hooks are now on my other 01 ranger
The front skid plate was cut up from being a tow behind vehicle (tow bar was still attached)
Alcoa wheels were damaged beyond repair
Thanks to driver the methods they use to place cars on the yard.
Floor plate was shredded which I was more mad about than anything
Center dash bezel piece was picked up by my brother

I think the only things left after I was done was just the body and frame... nothing else was worth pulling since it had been rolled.

The black interior including the dash skin is going into my 1998 ford ranger .... I just have to find color matching paint for the Passenger air bag

Just curious but I sold/traded you my floor plate and chrome bezel earlier this year. Just wondering if those parts did not work out for you?

If anyone has a chrome bezel and the boots, I would be very interested in buying them!
I bought the truck and the previous owner “liked” the square shift boot look from the early ford trucks. (Dude was a total moron)
