Found another use for Meguiars Hot Rims

Don't know why, but I decided to polish the belt cover on my sled today. Started with a diegrinder with a polishing wheel and compound, but it wasn't working too hot, so I grabbed my palm sander with a couple different polishing pads and went to town on this thing. It's turning out awesome. It went from dull crap to a mirror finish. I will post pics of the finished product later on.

Front quarter not touched yet.

Back done.

I am going over it all again to really make it smooth. Pretty easy to do also.

Nice work dude! What kind of sled ya got? I'm thinkin someday I might get one, startin to look for opinions on brands and size and such.

It's a 96 Polaris XLT ;(600 triple). I was going to buy it from a buddy of mine, but instead he gave it to me for my wedding present. Not a bad best man if you ask me. It's quick, but pretty heavy. Pulling over the three cylinders isn't that much fun the first start-up of the day, but after that it pops pretty easy. Started polishing a few other under-hood parts, can't wait 'til I'm done.
As for purchasing a sled, I've always had luck with Polaris, but if you talk to the next guy, he will tell you Skidoo, Yamaha, and so on. Just do your research. There are plenty of forms like this for snowmobiles also.

POLARIS TRIPPLES FTW!!! Ahaha I got a '96 Ultra 680 with SLPs and a 136, my buddy on an M8 couldn't believe that I beat him across the lake!! But nice work dude.
