i took my bed off and found a small rot hole in the frame :bawling: its a little smaller then the size of a dime right behind the shock mount on the drivers side.. i took a hammer and beat all around it it all seams to be good not what it was in 1993 but still good any ideas how to go about filling it?? :icon_welder:

I'd cut a section out, about and inch to either side, cut yourself a piece the same size, and then weld it in.

ya that would work i was thinking drill a hole 3/4" and leave it like that.. theres holes all through a frame whats one more? or is that spot by the shock a high stress area and needs to be solid?

My take on the frame is this: It is the foundation of the truck. It needs to be as solid as it can be.

The foundation of my house has holes in it for windows. But if I go down to the basement tomorrow and find an extra hole in the wall I'm going to Lowes for some blocks and cement mix. I'm not gonna say "Eh, what's one more hole?"

got it all fixed up today cut a 11/2" square hole and welded it in ground it all down and sand blasted the whole frame (cab back) and painted it cant even tell now

Cool. Hope that's the only problem you find for a while.

well hell ya man, sounds like you got the skills to fix it, kinda surprised you asked the question in the first place!

just like to get others opinion on things before i just do it see if any body has a better idea then me witch in this case adsm08 did if i wouldnt of asked i wouldve just drilled it out instead of welding in a new piece
