ForOffRoadDriving's 94 Ranger Build

i would like to add more spacers or just one large block under the front springs, but the problem is that the bolts that go through the axle beam and radius arm on a 2wd have less exposed thread on the spring side than a 4wd because the bolts got all the way through vs. a 4x4 where there are 2 separate bolts that secure that connection. i tried finding longer bolts back when i did the leveling spacers and leveling springs but i couldnt find anyone who made them longer (dorman, national, etc.) i may try an actual fastener shop like fasten-all and try my luck.

most people just use longer grade 8 bolts from a hardware store, they seem to be strong enough and you can get a larger variety of lengths

yeah, i understand the longer bolts thing, but when you get that large and that long not many hardware stores carry anything. they appear to be 8" long and 11/16 diameter?

heres the pictures i promised a few days ago; the first ones are of the auxillary outlets i added for our trip, since i planned on bringing the 12v cooler and a small power inverter to recharge camera batteries since both of our cameras eat batteries too fast.

these are us crossing the zilwakee bridge at 75mph (terra took a pic of the speedo as proof because the rescue ranger could only hold 55mph up the same hill last time we took a trip)

after we got back from our trip i decided to put some handles on the a-pillars because terra was getting as twisted up as a pretzel trying to get into the truck since these new seats have higher sides and you cant just slide up into them like she could on the 60/40 bench. i used 2" long 1/4" metal screws to secure the handles to the pillar, then i placed 1" steel sleeves with nylon bushings inside them to give the handle a firm spacer to clamp down on while leaving the interior trim pucker free.

That looks like a great pup. Seems like you get all the cool toys.

As if nobody told you yet SWEET RIDE!!! We must share a brain because you have used up all my ideas. I won't say can't wait to see it done because trucks like that are never done they just evolve. When I saw you post about buying the bfg at's I thought you were paying $275 a tire and thought you were getting robbed, then I read it again and did the math. Duh $135 and change isn't bad. I co owner a tire shop and just sold a set of 31's for $125 each. Want a great MT at a great price check out the Wild Country MTX built by multi-mile. Multi-mile is a cooper built private brand. Let you guys know most private brand are just under marketed major brands. :icon_thumby:says it all.

thanks goes out to all you guys, youre a big part of the reason why my truck keeps evolving! sure some of it is because i want to make it better and more user friendly for me, but a big part of it is to share with all of you (who appereciate RBVs in all forms) and show you fresh ideas or maybe just an new spin on an old idea. hopefully this week ill have pics up of my new subs as i dont plan on putting off their installation ,ive got nothing against my kenwood KFC2001 and q-logic band pass box, but its taking up precious space.

Can't wait

I think you're the only person on here who's build has ever come close to making me want an extended cab.
