ForOffRoadDriving's 94 Ranger Build

A lot of work has gone into the old girl. A lot of very detailed work.

Keep it up man!

It's not like you can get rid of her, you'd have to get a new belt buckle if you did!

ive threatened to sell it multiple times if it doesnt change its ways, but i could never do that. ill put it in time out or even temporary hibernation, but its going to stay with me until it returns to its original form, RUST!

heres a pic of my other belt buckle that i have worn every day since july of 2005. it is the front emblem off from a ford 8n tractor that i found in the woods when i scouting some property out for small game hunting. i jb welded some 10-32 nuts to it, a phillips head machine screw with a custom bend, and bent up a coat hanger from my old uniform service. the jb weld held good until i decided to get drunk while fishing one day and then went for a swim cause it was hot. once i was out of the boat i realized i was too drunk to get back in so i stayed in the water until i drifted to shore with my boat. by the time i got home the jb had softened and my buckle fell apart, so i got some permatex cold weld and its been fine ever since.

did you buy the 132 or the 132X springs for your truck ?

im pretty sure i bought the 132x springs, but ill have to check my receipt when i get home. (EDIT) I CHECKED AND THEY ARE 132 SPRINGS (EDIT) i was going to post up and get some opinions on them first, but i was anxious (wee all know how that is) and i just punched in the card number and waited 2 days. im glad you guys dig the buckle, its a one of a kind, just how i like my shit to be.

i have suspected that the problems may be in the coil or the ignition control module from the begining. i have a spare ign. mod. ill probably try on it, as well as a stock coil and another distributor and cap and rotor. i spent yesterday sleeping in and then splitting wood until it was dark, then i got tired again and took a nap.....pretty much wasted my day off being lazy! oh well, ill try to get to it on saturday, the garage is clean now and ive got wood to burn so all i need is motivation and some cold beers!

Everything goes faster with cold beers in hand.

ok, thumpers alive again and all is well. it turned out to be another faulty distributor, but this time the magnet broke away from the pick up module and was sticking to the reluctor wheel everytime it passed by. hopefully this one will be trouble free, but it did make me wonder if these remaned units get new pick up modules or if they just plug them into a test machine and say "yep it passed, put it back in". if thats the case these units probably have pick ups that are 300,000 mi + on them since these 3.0ls run for so long!

i also got my brakcets in the mail for my bed xtender, they shipped them in this box, which was inside of another box, which was filled with packing peanuts. i think they went a little over board, but i got them quickly and in undamaged condition.

Sounds like your new year is off to a great start, congrats, mate.

yeah, things are good again now that i have my truck back. ill be getting the snow tires mounted up tomorrow and hopefully will have them on the truck sometime tuesday, i will need to heat up the garage and paint the dust cap and tip of the rotor the same color black as the wheels, since i didnt come up with any center caps for these BII wheels yet. i also want to get those brackets installed so i can use my bed xtender for hauling crap and also so i dont lose them before spring rolls around. ive still got some more wiring to do, like hooking up the hellas on the front bumper, and finishing my air horn wiring (i got the realy mounted and wires have been run from the horn to the relay, i just need to run 12v constant and 12v switched power to the relay). ive still got the reverse issue, but im getting used to flipping on my toggle switch when backing up, and other than that everything is working well. my next purchase for the truck needs to be a box for the back so i can put my tools and recovery / emergency equipment in it. ive been looking at consruction site boxes, but they all seem to be very heavily constructed, so i dont know how much extra weight ill be looking at. the roll bar is making me choose, keep it for its looks and light holding ability as well as shovel and jack clamping duty, or ditch it and put the box from the rescue ranger in the back but then lose the lights, jack, and shovel (i tried to fit them in the box before, but theres not enough space).

wow !
i just saw the whole thing from the first page
i think the scroller on my mouse got a couple of miles !
great great work .
i send you my humble respect keep it up

Why not just weld up your own box? I've seen at least one other guy do it since he couldn't find one for his stepside. You said you like everything you have to be one of a kind, that should apply to your toolbox too! :icon_welder:
