Ford Techs? Diff between 04 and 08 4L?

Any techs out there. I'm looking to purchase a 08 4L out of a ranger 4x4 to replace the 4L in my 04 4x4, which had 160000 and rear timing chain rattle. The 08 only has 28000 miles on it. I emailed the scrape yard and they say they do not interchange. Will only fit 07-11
. What is the difference and what would I need to do to install?
