Ford Rangers and the screeching cat under the hood

mild scuffing with some medium grit didn't help any. guess it's time to break out the "Binford Super Grinder", when the weather warms up.

So I picked up a Gatorback belt and it seems to be a tiny bit shorter and I can't get in on. Won't fit under the idler pulley. What the hell?:annoyed:

Nevermind. Traded it out for a longer one. The Ranger has been silenced.....for now.

Good choice. I've had my Gatorback on my 3.0L for 5 years now, and it still looks pretty good.

You may get a little sqeal in the begining during a rain, or driving through large puddles, but after a little bit (mine was about a week, if I remember correct) after that it shouldn't make any noise.

As far as the Dayco pulleys, mine last about a year, to a year and a half. Replacing my tensioner arm last year (about 134,000 miles on it) has seemed to help the tensioner pulley a bit, and recenetered the belt on the pulley again.

I worked at a Mazda dealer way back in the day... You wouldnt believe how retarded some of those salesmen are. Belts squeeking on a B4000 and the tard sprays EVERYTHING with WD-40 at the suggestion of another "pusher". I wouldnt go to that dealer to crap in their toilet even if I was about to shit my pants.
