After researching for a while, I'm thinking its the Front Wheel Spindle might be bent???

Just realized this might be in the wrong section. mod please move for me

holy cow....that is not right.

my first thought is that your outer wheel bearing is completely gone. you need to pull that thing apart and see whats going on. i would stop driving that truck until the problem is fixed...that does not look safe for even very short trips.

At the very least, Spindle, hub, inner and outer bearings, seal, washer and cotter key. You might have to replace the rotor and caliper as well.

Take it apart, take some more pics, lets see the carnage!

I would not even drive that to the parts store unless your OK with possibly killing someone.

i don't know if its like mine, but the rotor, hub and bearing races are all the same piece. can't tell what the spindle looks like from your pics, but looks like you could get by with new rotor/hub assemblies, wheel bearings and grease seals. the bearings should come with the washers and cotter pins.

Like stated above: That is not safe to drive! At all!

You may be able to get away with just a new rotor and wheel bearings, but you won't know until you remove the old stuff. Depends on how long you've been driving it like this as well.

i would say pull if off. see what the inner wheel bearing looks like and come to a conlusion from there. im not sure how yours is but i had to tap my inner wheel bearing out so dont be afraid when it doesnt fall right out.

Yep...do not drive it...mine came off the front right at about 80kph and it was not fun...well, it didn't actually come off completely...the caliper was all that was holding the wheel in place...

You might not have to change the spindle by the looks of things, but more pics would be nice...if the thread on the end is stripped or the spindle shaft has any deep groves in it then it's pooched...

Take it apart and post some pics of the spindle, rotor, etc. At the least bearings, seal, brakepads, at the worst spindle, bearings, seal, rotor, caliper, pads (might as well do both calipers while your at it), and all the little hardware (castle nut, cotter pins, etc).

me too???

ive got a 96 ranger and think i may have the same prob...execpt i have no steering probs---yet---.looks like a lot of fun,,,,glad ive got my own tools...lol.if you look at the front of my truck, the pass side wheel is leaning {top of wheel } in towards the wheel well.it sounds like something is dangeling as well.:icon_cheers:

same thing happened to me christmas eve... the outer bearing just blew up and left me stranded. the threads on the spindle were completely trashed from the rotor wobbling around and pushing the spindle nut. the rotor and caliper were ok though, i only needed to replace spindle. but like everyone else said, definitely not safe to drive like that...

yEAH you pretty much melted the outer bearing, your lucky it didnt sieze up on you, if it did your lucky you didnt roll. park the truck, cuz the next step after that pic is the wheel coming off like mine did.

My '97 Ranger had a bad wobble (felt like an up & down thing) from 30 mph till 45 mph and I thought it may be the wheel bearings. The guy I bought the truck from said "yup, sounds like it"...so, I am gonna pull off the wheel's, caliper & rotor & have a look see...
