Hello everyone, my best wishes from Mexico!!! I`m new on this and i have sold my 03 ranger 4x4 XLT to get an FX4 OFF ROAD, can someone tell me if differentials are the same than the FX4 LEVEL II, i know the level II carries 31 x 10.5 x 15 tires from the dealer, i would like to know if i can put those tires to my FX4 OFF ROAD without making any modification?

what makes the difference between and fx4 off road and level II? is the same package when activating 4x4 on regards the rear differential? i know the fx4 package locks the rear differential + the one in the front? can some one tell me if this is true?

looking forward for your reply!!!
regards

The tires will work fine. The rest of it I can't remember right now.

thanks for the reply!!! if someone else knows about the difference between diferentials I`ll appreciate your response.

thanks!!!

The FX4 L II has a Torsen (gear style) limited slip differential and it is not a locking differential. The FX4 Off Road should have a clutch style limited slip differential which is different than the Torsen.

If you are asking about gear ratios they could be the same but not guaranteed.

Thanks for the reply GW33GP!!!!

So what makes the difference between these two models besides inside / outside aesthetics of the truck? how does it work when activating 4x4, I´m just a little confused on how it work since I´m new on this.
I had on mind than once you activate 4x4 on the FX4 models both wheels on the back worked at the same time with the same torque, is this true? or how does 4x4 works on FX4 models? which wheels on the front/rear differentials are locked when activating 4x4?
Are the 2 differentials locked when activating 4x4?
I´ll appreciate your response

if anyones has anymore inputs on regards how 4x4 work in Rangers FX4 off road & level II please let me know, I´ll appreciate your responses very much!!!

but differential from FX4 OFF ROAD & FX4 LEVEL II are the same? they work equal when activating 4x4 right?
