Ford ranger 1999 4.0 4x4 transmission swap

Ford ranger 1999 4.0 OHV 4x4 transmission swap.I used a 2001 Ranger SOHC 4.0 4x4 transmission in my 1999 Ranger, everything worked perfectly except the new transmission has two speed sensors, the original only has one. The original wiring on my Ranger only lets me connect to one of the speed sensors. I did a test and the transmission does not shift properly and does not go over 30 mph. I tried disconnecting the speed sensor, tested it again, now it does not shift into any gear unless I do it manually. Also, the OD light is flashing. Please, if someone could guide me, I would appreciate it.

Can you extend the wiring over to the other speed sensor location? You can repair the wire if it doesn't work there either.

I can extend the wiring, but before doing that, I wanted to know if the transmission I used (2001 Ford Ranger 4.0 SOHC) is compatible with my 1999 Ranger 4.0 OHV. I wouldn't want to keep wasting time if I got the wrong transmission from the start. I thought it was the same because everything else bolts on perfectly. Thanks for the idea.
