Ford Quality Rant

Buying more beer leaves less money for truck parts. :icon_thumby:

Why not 5 laps, 5 beers, 10 pushups, 10 beers, then the last 5 beers DURING 5 more laps.

We should plan the Olympics, imo.

Sign me up :icon_thumby:

But I could use that $20 to buy more beer

There was a TSB on it, so you SHOULD have known

And, due to said TSB, it was corrected. Maybe ford (a4ld) could have learned something?

For a stock truck doing what a stock truck should do they were not all that bad. They only got stronger as time went on.

I am not sure how the Titan sales pay the light bill at the plant, they are pathetic.

BTW, the only S-10 I saw that was parked last night was leaning left. :D

the lean has more todo with how the truck is setup then just driver and gas, ford balanced the truck so when it was brand new it would sit level, no fuel, no driver, the engineers seemed to setup the truck properly to me....everything, engine, trans is shifted slightly to one side to balance the truck, when u add a fatman into the equation(not saying the op is fat, just a guess) any suspension on that side will see more wear.....

hell i used to have fat guys sit in cars so i could see how they look lowered lol

and the reason other small trucks dont have the ranger lean problem is because they have all sorts of other problems....like toyota's and having no frame LOL, or a s10 being a s10 lol dont need to say anything more about that....

and dont even get me started on the problems with all the new trucks, like the toyota tundra-biggest piece of shit ever that toyota refuses to acknowledge

A TON on Titan owners were left with the repair bill, Nissan is terrible with customer service. Some trucks went through upwards of 3-4 rearends. The TSB I was referring to was for the window thing - which Nissan did not recall and replace the defective pieces - they simply fixed the ones on trucks that started acting up, so if yours breaks later instead of under warranty - you pay the bill.

The A4LD thing - that's because they're older now, and people that only do a soft rebuild end up with a dead tranny down the road. A full rebuild when it's time to do so and you're fine.

and nissan isnt the only one that cant keep a rear end in there half ton trucks, dodge's half ton rear im replacing once a month for customers who just drive there trucks and use them as trucks.

and at 1100 a pop (the cheapest u can find that junk axle for) and my install time they are usually lookin at about 1400 for something dodge refuses to cover

Hmm, truck leans a little to the left. Road leans a little to the right. Coincidence?

Most US produced vehicles do have a slight difference in ride hieght from R/L to make up for the fact that roads are designed with a slope to drain off the water when it rains.

As for Nissan quality, it went downhill quickly back in the mid 90's, when Renault bought a big chunk of the company. The french just don't care about about cars enough to build one that will last. Seems they still don't.....
My 90 Nissan is just shy of 1/4 million miles. You won't see many newer nissan's capable of reaching that mark......

As for Ford's quality, I agree, it sucks. My 1980 F150 has seen in excess of 300K miles in the last 30+ years, and I just can't seem to wear out that 300 I6, C6, or 9" rear axle...... Of course, it was built back when people actually kept a vehicle for more 2-3 years.

My truck sits level. I did adjust the front out level when I cranked my t-bars though...

I guess I don't see the big deal. Sure, if it was a $60,000 truck I would want it to be perfect within a 1/32" tolerance on all interior pieces - but I could buy 4 rangers for that money.

As for why the other little guys don't lean... I dunno. Never really cared/paid attention.

They do. My S-10 leans more than my Ranger. As far as weight distribution, the Chevy is probably better for sitting level, no t-case or front drive train.

To the OP. GO AWAY. GO AWAY. STAY TUNED FOR AN ALL NEW ALLIE MCBEAL!!!

People like you, cost me money. I can get paid for a max of .3 hours to look at your problem, run and OASIS report, go check two or three other similar vehicles, see if they are the same way, and then go tell you "it's normal, they all do it". That usually takes me an hour. Just like when you are paying the bill you get to say yes or no to parts and repairs, Ford does the same thing. Rangers have leaned from the beginning to time. Both of mine do it. The 2wd isn't quite as bad. As for the "visible metal", go to the lot, ask to look at a similar truck. If it has it, it may be something that is "normal". If it doesn't, that will very much strengthen your case towards getting it fixed. Have you checked to see that the trim panel is clipped in the whole way?
