I'm not sure when I actually realized it, but NBC has a tendency to use Ford vehicles in most of its shows. New Knight Rider, besides the Mustang, used lots of new model fords. Trauma uses brand new Fords for the ambulances. Law&Order SVU uses new Fords for undercover police vehicles and regular squad cars. Basically, i like all the cool publicity Ford is getting thru this partnership.:headbang:

Maybe through some more Rangers into the mix though, Huh guys?:icon_thumby:

the way it works is its called product placement, a show needs cool, newly designed vehicles. the production company calls up ford ask for a product placement and the production company sends them a script. if Ford likes the script, bam they get as many cars as they want for free. the knight rider mustang was pretty sick, but the stunt vehicle was crazy, it was a metal tubing with casters, just the body with the whole engine compartment and fenders gone just wires for the electronics sticking out.

but don't get it twisted, Hollywood throughly supports Ford. every vehicle in the back lots (I'll take pictures) are either F-650 or F-550, they use the F-350 duallys as fuelers to fuel the picture cars up.

In the old TV series, aside from free (sortof) advertising for their products, the "sponsors" used to get a credit at the beginning and end of a program...and there was usually a script change or action shots that showed the vehicle features...

cool shows deserve cool rides....FORD!!!:headbang:
the other day i saw the pontiac gto movie(a movie made to showoff the recently made gto), besides that EVERY ride in the movie was gm, it was a plain boring movie.
the same applies to transformers, the only good was the mustang-saleen s281 decepticon-barricade.
TO PUNISH AND ENSLAVE :headbang:

thats some pretty cool stuff. I definitely don't object! Nothing increases tv enjoyment more than a beautiful Ford vehicle.:headbang:

I don't know if Ford really wanted to be in that movie, the car was a Saleen S281, not a Ford Mustang. It started out as a Ford, but is a Saleen when it is done.

Then they had the little Super Duty monster truck in the second movie... and that was pretty much it for Fords between the two of them.

the black kodiak in transformers 1 is the only chevy I would drive

You pay for product placement. Seinfeld was known for that. Like asking if somebody wants a Snapple. Watch House you'll see GE medical equipment and at the end you'll see in the credits GE Medical. Look and you'll see labels that are lager than normal or in the wrong spot.

The reason i heard that Ford didnt want it in the movie was because it was the bad guy.

well any way ...... Transformers is why the Camaro is 2 grand atleast in every trim level than the Mustang

Night Rider is is only a small part of the reason that a Shelby GT-500 is cost prohibitive.
