Ford launches the Ford Raptor at debut

Not a surprise. When you see or hear the word 'Raptor', the F150 Raptor is what comes to mind. We only need 1 version. That way, the Raptor can be exclusively 'The Raptor'.

It may be the only version that comes to your mind. The rest of us are aware of more than one version.

Ford used to be an everyman's car company, sort of like Toyota is today. If anything, Toyota probably based their business model on Ford. Now Ford seems to be trying to be more like Mercedes or BMW. They will only offer higher end vehicles that ensure the greatest profit margin per vehicle. I see this as a direct result of years of uncontrolled foreign encroachment on US markets and the need to please Wall Street. It might be acceptable if the playing field was even but it hasn't been for decades. Henry must be turning in his grave.

Only?

By numbers they make as many if not more stripped trucks as anyone else in the market.

And they make high end stuff too. People will pay for it so it would be stupid to not cater to them too.

Henry Ford has probably been turning a steady 500rpm in his grave since his death.

"A market is never saturated with a good product, but it is very quickly saturated with a bad one." - Henry Ford

If it was up to him nothing needed more than 4 cylinders... so yeah he probably wouldn’t be very happy about vehicles today with more than one color and turbocharged V6’s.

If we can't have a Raptor, I think they should bring back the 'Lightning' and put it on a 2WD Ranger with the 3.5L EcoBoost.

YOU HEAR THAT FORD??? (a slow clap reverberates throughout the population of planet Earth, slowly gaining strength and volume)

Add "standard cab shortbed" to that and I'm in.

It's long overdue. A true SVT Ranger...

Raptor has always been an F150. Why would they change that ?
3.5TT will never be in any Ranger unless someone or company mods it in.
3.0 diesel or 2.7TT, yes that could happen.

Also, Ford sells a lot of XL and base model vehicles.
Whoever that was praising Toyota over Ford, move to Japan !
Ford is the last true American vehicle company !

#1 - Um, maybe, just maybe, because they've already built a Ranger Raptor in other countries....? lmao

#2 - You do know that several models of Toyota's are built in America right? A very large percentage of the parts are produced here in the US, by US workers, in various states, by lots of different companies. Then the vehicles are also assembled here..

#3 - Why should anyone move to another country because you hate or disagree with what they're saying? That's as un-American as I can imagine.

The eb2.3is fine as is, give me a manual or paddle shift, sport suspension and make it a sport truck. That's what I was saying. Just My opinion.

Knock it off.

Wow. It's getting testy on here. No hard feelings fastpakr. It's all good on my end. We all have our own opinion of what our ideal truck is.

I deleted the nonsense comments. Keep it civil men. This is a discussion. Not a pissing match

A buddy/co-worker just got back from the Philippines and said the Raptors were all over by he place. Outnumbered the regular ones.
