ford is bringing sexy back

the SHO is on man!!! it looks sweet! besides, however, the ugly ass tan crap interior..thank gravy its an option...you should check out the Lincoln MKS

oh ya this twin-turbo EcoBoost is pretty cool stuff! Maybe we will some day see it in an updated version of our ranger??? :icon_surprised:

well they have a sho and an svt fusion in the works and also the svt raptor...think of what they can do with the next new ranger in 2012.....3 more years guys!!!

Hey, that's awesome. I cant wait till their in production. Our fleet at work will always have many Taurus' as long as ford makes them. Cant wait to test the TT ecoboost!

Almost looks like they took the dip on the hood from 08 and popped it out the other direction. Lookin good.

yeah ...... like any of us can afford a $60,000 Taurus, on a side note, I was at Chrysler today and seen a new Charger with a 6spd on the showroom floor ........ $44,000 as it sat with the 6spd and 6.1 hemi.

Funny how they are literally raping us for this fuel economy though...I liked the original SHO Taurus...I sat in one the day I bought my Tempo and thought "gee, if I was a bit wealthier and had a family, this would be my car"...

I had a neighbor a few years ago and her friend drove up in a 92 Taurus SHO...she was saying her husband wanted to scrap the car because they always had problems...I just about jumped on her and told her to keep it in her barn for a few years because they were rare...they pulled the For Sale sign off of it the last time I drove by...not sure if they sold it or what, but I wanted to buy it off them myself...it was in mint condition other than the squacking power steering belt that she was complaining about...

Jesus christ, the SHO version starts at $38k :shok:

Really cool though. I'd drive it.

thats all....... I remember the 95 sho with a 5spd and leather coming in at $42,xxx.

1999 SHO stickered at $29k according to what I found.

I don't think $38k is THAT bad, the car is as big as a 7 series BMW, with the price of a 3 series.

I'm going to seriously look into getting one of these used around 2013.

And since this thread is seriously lacking of pictures...

if this dyno is REAL, its about the coolest dyno i've ever seen!

If it's not real, it's pretty close. It's amazing what turbocharging, direct injection, and variable valve timing can do for a torque curve.

I'm just waiting for Dustin (rusty old ranger) to come on here and start going off about how his 2.9L could easily out tow this thing because it's just one of them gutless, no bottom-end torque, turbocharged, new-fangled engines.

Cool Engine.

But id still opt for a 460/4sp/4bbl if it was an option :)

Kind of an ugly body though....and yes...my 2.9 could pull it :P j/k.

later,
Dustin

I don't know what you were able to find on the internet but I remember looking at a 1995 SHO with a 5spd and leather at Newberg Ford in Newberg Oregon when I bought my last ranger (91 2wd reg cab short box 4.0L XLT) back in 1994 and the window sticker with destination and all the added crap it came out to $42,xxx.

paid $5200 for my ranger with 57,xxx miles so its not like they marked stuff up.

I'm not doubting you, but 15 years is a long time for memories to get a little skewed, heh. I can't see how ANY of those jellybean taurus' woulda sold for 42k in 1995. You sure it wasn't some kind of customized version?
