Ford increases Ranger production.

It's a shame that Ford hasn't taken advantage of the Ranger at this point in its life cycle to come out with something different, say for example, and shortbed 2WD model with 4.0L and a stick complete with a true sport suspension.

I suspect most of the models that they're likely producing are then plain white, four cylinder delivery type Rangers.

The only reason they have kept the line open this long is people are buying them as cheap trucks that get good milage.

i wanna see the 2011 model they gotta keep it going now crossing fingers

Good to hear they are still pumping them out.

I hate Ford for not treating the Ranger better........
they could sell the hell out of them, if they'd just restyle them!!!

Tell me about it. I wanted a 4-door supercab, 2wd, 4 cyl. and the dealer told me you can't get a 4 cyl. in a 4-door supercab only a 2-door supercab. If you want a 4-door supercab you have to get the 4.0L V-6. Can someone tell me why, this is stupid. You can get a Nissan Frontier in a 4-door xtracab, 4 cyl.
Ford and any other company are in no position to be putting on restrictions of what you can and can not order with the state of economy today.

The current Ranger doesn't have an outdated look, but they could have at least done something to freshen up the interior over the years. How hard/expensive would that have been???

It'd be nice if they'd stop lowering the trucks for fuel economy too......... we have the technology to pull more hp and mpg's!!!!
and fix the stuff they know will go wrong like the cargo light leaking.....
the auto's acting up
the door hinge going crazy and making the key beaper beep, and the interior light stay on.
And the center consoles/armrest breaking.

But that's just me.

Restyling/retooling costs a lot of money. When was the Porche 911 really restyled? Little bit at a time but I'd sure take one. I think the motors are going to really change due to the up coming C.A.F.E requirements.
