trying to figure it out, spacers maybe, but where the **** do I put the spacers and how do I installed them???

on top of the strut? just use longer bolts to secure it maybe? idk much about how the strut needs to be attached to the top tho. or find longer struts that fit.

No, in the case of a uni-body vehicle spacers on the springs would be a body lift while extended arms and longer springs would be a suspension lift.

I need help oh wise (ass) adsm08 , I actually need to know if there would be any downsides to spacers on top of the struts, and what Id have to do to do it, I dont want to ruin anything here.

Well, I can't think of any issues it would cause in the rear. The rear springs are really only held in by the weight of the car sitting on them and the fact that the rear A-arms can't swing far enough to allow them to fall out.


The front sit another issue. The studs that hold the strut top to the body are only about 3/4 of an inch long. I'm thinking a longer strut, but I can't off the top of my head of a longer one that mounts in the same.

Escape ones are longer, but attach to the knuckle differently, they have two bolts that pass through ears while the Focus ones slide into a hole at the top of the knuckle and are held in by a pinch bolt.

I'm not aware of any strut plate that has longer studs. The problem with what you propose is that people generally are looking to lower vehicles that have this kind of suspension, not lift it.

I'd look into lifting a VW Jetta. I know I saw a thread about someone who lifted his Jetta an inch or two and the Jetta suspension is very similar to a Focus. His techniques may help you.

In my defense I had the bumper off just to clean the rust off and paint it.

I saw a lifted Subaru GL wagon yesterday that didn't look too bad. I really wanted a pic but it was traveling in the opposite direction. It had at least 31's under it. Funny thing is, it was loaded with "homeys". I thought they only put a lift on Donks.
