are internal parts like gears/lockers compatible in both these axles?
thanks

I think only the D35 carrier is because our rangers 97 older run a reverse cut gear. I would check down in the ranger axles section

Pretty sure you need reverse cut for a ranger, and jeeps are regular cut.... not 100% on jeep stuff though. lockers and stuff usually work though, aussie lockers at least has the same part # for ranger d35's as '88-94 jeep d35s

thanks dude, if they have the same spline count i assume the lockers would be the same. that ring & pinoin set confuses me though, i wish theyd say what its really for

i wouldnt buy them. it looks just like a general tagging so they can sell them to anyone. pretty sure they have the same spline count though.

Dodge owns jeep or use to. So Im sure tehre is a dakota or something out there that ran the D35. THe 98 newer ranger run a conventional cut gear, that will match up with the older dana 35s from jeep I believe. You just have to read the forums and find a good writup. I would check the tech articles too. When in doubt, go to TRSfabandoffroad Nitro gears are pretty cheap in 4.56

Carriers fit, I have a L/S in my front axle, was out of the rear of a jeep i believe.

The gears aren't the same. Ranger's take reverse cut and Jeeps need high pinions below 4.10 gears. Rangers don't.
