While factually correct, his statements left some things out.

Even *if* the battery were charged on the back side of the sensor package it would not be long before the PCM reached out to the battery sensor, and updated the data regarding voltage and charge percentage. Typically in automobiles the CAN sensors are not polled in absolute real time, but rather about once or so per minute. Non-catastrophic values are not polled in real time.
