i just bought a 2007 ranger and was wondering why on the gas cap does it say Ford reccomends BP gas.

I'm assuming 'cause BP pays them to put their logo on there... haha... we don't even have BP out here anymore so screw that

BP stands for British Petroleum.

They bought Amoco some years back. Owned by the Brits, but still refined in the US.

On some of the BMW and Volvo, the oil cap recommends Castrol. Which is produced by BP. On the higher end GM models, they recommend Mobil 1.

Just put in which every gas station you feel best at. I always fill-up at the place I work. Always fresh, no ethonal, safety equipment is in good order. And the gas comes from Citgo.

I worked at an Amoco gas station years ago. At that time Amoco was the best gas in my area. We did our own private comparisons. When that station closed I had to go to a different Amoco station. One day I walked in to pay for my gas and there where two young men behind the counter, One with his hand in the others back pocket. I haven't bought Amoco since. I don't know if it is still any better or not.
