so it is that time to do a solid axle swap in my 93 ranger. I have a dana 44 out of a 78 pickup and a 9" with a spool both are ford axle of coarse. my question is I have the vehicle speed sensor in the 8.8 thats in it now but I do not have abs and my spedometer in cable driven from the transmission i do believe. I need to know what needs to be done to run that 9" can I just leave the vss unplugged? or do I need to run a vss in the 9" housing with a toner ring. please let me know in anybody has any solutions. Thanx guys!!

dont need it, thats only for the RABS sensor. . . I have a 98 and i got a dana 70 in my rear and the plug is just taped up and hanging:beer:

Unless yours is just going to be a mud runner: Trailered to the event, run in competition, back on the trailer. Don't bother running the spool, it won't go around corners worth a darn and you will break axles.

He wasn't asking for opinions on a spool. I am sure he is well aware of the pros/cons.

Care to share what you know about the VSS?

No input on VSS

I don't have any first hand experience with the VSS, my sincere apologies for commenting on the spool.

Just to clarify. . . YES u can turn around corners YES ur tires screach on tight one YES it wears out ur tires quicker YES u can whimp perfect donust YES its super fun and well worth and YES i run either a spool or just welded on ALL my rigs:thefinger:

People always talk shit about spools on the street. . . its like anyother mod u do to ur rig sometimes it takes getting used to the change of how it feels but eventually u do and its just like driving any other rig :headbang: Well atleast in ur own mind:thefinger:

No ur totaly fine with no tone ring, my 70 sure as hell doesnt have one and i havent noticed any differences. . . My abs light is on my dash thats it:thefinger: Well worth the added strength just tot deal with a stupid light:beer:

Rip the dash apart and take the light out or the abs fuse.

cool thanx for the info guys. no worries about the spool im aware of the good and bad sides to one and yes they are loads of fun.
