You do know that the only "power" seat option available in the 1st gens was a lumbar support adjustment though.

I want a nice set, they look like a PITA to have recovered. Since I have a decent set of seats that work for the moment I have time to wait.

Didn't know that, it isn't a common option at any rate. The OP's truck is a '95 so it in theory should have more luxury options. Power seats were not popular in the world yet for most of the first generation's reign, and by the time the second gens rolled out standard cabs were usually basic trucks.

I had to dig through two yards to find a single set of manual tracks, only standard cab first or second gen in either lot that didn't have a solid bench.

Alright so i went to the pick and pull and grabbed some 60/40 seat tracks and then found a set of near perfect gen 1 exploder buckets. after i pulled out the old bench,
i saw that the other holes for the 60/40 brackets were already drilled and had rubber caps in them, all i had to do was thread the holes, and the seats fit great. I definately sit lower. i could tell because my mirrors were now pointed too high to see out of. Also, I gained a few inches of leg room too. and the seat is reclined fairly decent so i'm not sitting straight up. I'll post pics in my build thread tomorrow.

I'm a tall dude. At 6'5" I get a kink in my neck everytime I drive my pickup with the tall bench seat. Just wondering, out of the swappable seats listed in the tech library, which sit the lowest, or are they all about the same?

With the limited room in a RBV cab it sounds like to me that you taller guys would just be better off with a full size truck. I am only 5'9 but have had my left knee replaced and even I have a hard time getting into and out of my ranger. And I drive with my seat all the way back. I dont see how you fit honestly. I dont think swapping seats is gonna solve your issue. I guess if you had an extended cab you could always pull the ole Bubba Smith (RIP) trick out of Police Academy and just rip the front seats out and sit in the back..

I wish i could afford to drive a fullsize, i drive my dads 91 1 ton chevy 6.5 diesel ex cab and its awesome (i know its a chevy but cmon). But paying for the diesel and only getting 17 mpg would drain my paycheck lol

I swapped 02 Cavalier seats in my 86, I had to space them up because they were too low for me to drive (I'm 5'11"). They're not a bolt in but they're damn close.

It is some sort of coating. I don't know if it is for heat, noise or corrosion but it is not the cab floor.

I noticed mine was doing that too, the steel under it was fine. Like det107 said, it is just drying out with age.
