Fog Lights Turn off when Low Beams are on.

Hello,

I have a 1999 Ranger XLT 4 door 4x4 4.0

When I turn on my running lamps. I can activate the fog lamps, however when I turn the head light switch to low beams my fog lights go out including the light on the button on the dash.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. I did read that info before I posted my question. In the owners manual the info is as follows. It just doesn't make any sense that the fog lights won't run with the low beams. I just bought the truck last week.

HEADLAMP CONTROL
Rotate the headlamp control to the
first position to turn on the parking
lamps. Rotate to the second position
to also turn on the headlamps.
Foglamp control (if equipped)
Turn on the low-beam headlamps
and press the foglamp control to
activate the foglamps. The foglamp
control will illuminate when the
foglamps are on.
