- Make it happen.
Hey everybody. I'm new, here to introduce myself.
At the beginning of this year, I knew absolutely nothing about automobiles. Never even changed my own oil. So I thought it'd be a good idea to start learning some stuff, and I bought myself a 1986 Ford Ranger XLT (2.9L V6) with not much rust on the body and a whole lot of rust everywhere else. That's okay, I thought to myself, I have a running, reliable car. This truck will be great to wrench around and learn on.
So a few months later when my reliable car blew its engine up to Jupiter, my rust-bucket Ranger became my daily driver. I don't have much of that stuff, what do you call it...oh yeah, money! So if I can learn to fix it myself, that's what I'm going to do.
I've been snooping around The Ranger Station for a while now, got some useful info (an article about my engine led me to discover a $30 TFI module replacement was what I needed instead of a few hundred dollars worth of random OHMYGODWHATCOULDPOSSIBLYBEWRONG part-swapping), and now I'm signing up so I can ask questions when I need to.
Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated. See you around.
