I have a fm 146 out of a bronco ii that probaley dosen't matter but, the guy I bought it from said it kind of growled going down the road I think he said it would jump out of fourth gear probaley synchronizers. The last time he drove it loud bang and quit pulling I tore it a part and the disk had came a part with him. While in specting the trans found the input shaft had lot of in play about 1\8 inch and some side to side or up and down which ever way you want to say it. How much inplay should it have and, is it hard to put barings throughout and synchronizers with the help of some kind of manual I know I could ask a transmission shop just thought I would ask here first. I hope I didn't leave any thing out

there should not be any end play in the input shaft.
a tranny shop will probably want $1000 for that. it
is not hard to put bearings in, but maybe more money
than it is worth. i would put in a tk 5, but people here
will say mazda.
