need to know the ammount of oil needed for:

gear oil for front dana 35 & rear for the 8.8

and ammount for a 1354 manual Tcase

you can move this thread if you want

thanks!

The 8.8 takes 5 pints (2 1/2 32 fl oz. bottles) IIRC. I can't remember how much the front takes... Any parts store should be able to tell you.

ive never dained the front before, anyone have any good methods?

Drill a hole and then make a drain plug or use a suction gun. Or pull the pig, that's always fun.

Haynes says 3.5 pints front axle
2.5 pints xfer case.
I did both recently on my 1996.

I use a 3/8 inch hose, bent 3/8 steel tube (toilet water line), some PVC ppe with adapters and a shop vac.

I built the contraption because my rigs always end up in muddy water and with worn axle shafts and seals, water gets in.

a complete list...
