I got dual exhaust, and decided to run a flowmaster 40 after reading up on everyones reviews, and listening to sound clips.
I don't know what is wrong but it sounds awfull on my truck, I have dual 2.5 in exhaust pipe, 3in tips, a single flowmaster 40................. this is all after my ridiculous 3 catalytic converters.
But I opted to keep them in place, If I go back to muffler shop and get a straight pipe is it going to be too loud? I figure 3 cats should be doing some serious muffling on sound, but I can barely hear it now and when it does wrap up and I can hear it, it sounds like a civic sucking wind.
I'm disgusted at this point with it, I'm going to take it back tomorrow and I have to choose a glasspack, or straight pipe...... about the only louder options.
I'd rather have my truck sound like a ragged 6banger, than a ricer 4cyl....... but I don't want it to be excessive in cab on trips.
curious if anyone has tried different variations with triple cat setups and the 4.0.
Frank
