My name is Matt, I currently live in Florida. I recently (about 3.5 hrs ago) a 1992 red ford ranger. It ran the whole 6 miles back to work like a P.O.S. But... the guy said it just needs an EGR valve replacement. Well I drove it and the problem I felt I felt before so I looked it up online, and for a cost of 3 minutes worth of google found the correct firing order. #2 and 3 plugs were reversedHe sold me a ranger for 450.00 that runs fine. Makes me wanna a gas pump. 20+mpg here I come. Its a big jump from the 13-16 mpg I got in my expo. Well, maybe Im way too excited, but it was still a good deal. Time to go look for some good info on trucks. Thanks

I don't know exactly where he's at but nearby is the Ocala National Forest which has lots of great wheeling. Not exactly the safest area though. A guy in one of my classes went up there a couple weeks ago and was riding ATVs at around dusk and came across a KKK meeting of over 100 people.

OK so i didnt exactly figure out the problem like i had thought It was mixed up wires, but it was running so rough i couldnt tell te difference. It still stumbles and hesitates from light throttle all the way through w.o.t., I have cleaned every part of the egr system so i dont think its egr like he said. unless iss a sensor. I dont know what it is really and im at my wits end. I spent all day looking through the engine yesterday. I cant find anything. But I did hear a slight backfire in the intake at wot. Also its starting to tap or tick in the valves now. but its got plenty of oil.

I just left the forest after camping this weekend and we went 4 wheeling everywhere, I didnt see no klan members but they are out there. There are a ton of good wheelin places out here but i wont be wheelin this is 2wd daily driver.

Do a tune up; maybe that'll help out..get a fuel filter, spark plugs and check your air filter. Also check to see if your mass air flow sensor is contaminated. You could even check to see if all your vacuum lines are properly hooked up and see if there are any cracks/splits as that will make it run like crap..just suggestions

PLugs wires belts are all new. The 2 and 3 cyl plugs on both coils were backwards. I swapped them and no change. Oh gaskets are new too. Mass air was cleaned with carb cleaner. No damage to it yet. all vacuum lines are good. one was crap but i cut some hose of the whatchamacallit, crankcase vent tube on top of valve cover.... oh well i dunno i change that one.OH YEAH pcv valve. i changed that tube going to the intake, also there is a tube on teh bottom of the throttle body runs to the carbon canister next to the radiator? well that was clogged from to back, broke through that crap, maybe i should clean it some more. Either way Ive done everythign I can without spending money on sensors. I think Im gonna have to shortly though.


obd1 codes 18 and 98 obd tester via flashing light. Did it 4 times to make sure i didnt misunderstand it.
