want to convert auto to floor w/console and shifter any sugeestions on what i can use (mustang, escape, anything) :dunno:

I'm using a B&M truck megashifter in mine. It's a ratchet style shifter and very nice. Not cheap but comes with everything you need including reverse switch if needed and neutral safety switch if needed/wanted.

If you want stock, check if the 95-01 Explorers had a floor shift option, they had a similar interior to your truck... but I don't think floor shifters came back into style until after that...

No they didn't. They were all column shift.

I didn't think they did, but for an ideal setup that would be as close as it could get.

Some bronco II's came with floor shifters. You might be able to get one to work.

Yeah, all the automatics did until the '89 remodel. Dunno how one would look/work in a newer truck though.

i am actually working on doing a swap in my 89 bII putting in a floor shifter from a 87bII,
i am working on hooking up the linkage, the old floor shift are rods where as the new ones are cable.

Yup.....

The shift arm coming out of the transmission on the gen1 were above the pivot point, and on the gen2 it was below the pivot. Basically the shift arm and downshift arm were reversed.

ya i figured out how to do it i just need to go to the junk yard again to get a couple extra parts to modify and make work i dont want to cut my factory ones yet incase i need to put it to stock to drive the next day

i have a 98 ranger and wanted to do the same thing anybody know how hard that would be.
